Descripción
Refers to lacquer produced in France during the 18th century in imitation of Japanese and Chinese lacquers. The basic ingrediant in copal varnish with powdred metal, often gold, mixed in. It was developed by and named for the Martin brothers, Parisian craftsmen, it was used to decorate furniture, carriages, snuff boxes and other objects.
