Descripción

Wood of the species Diospyros digyna, native to eastern Mexico, Central America, and south to Colombia. The wood is yellowish to deep-yellow with black markings near the heart of old trunks; it is compact and suitable for cabinetwork. Reports of dark wood utilized for furniture are probably the result of confusion with other species of the genus Diospyros.
