Descripción
Roofed porch or lean-to pent roofs that extend from a building, especially of a temple hall or of a "tahōtō." They usually surround the main part of the building and were used as a method to increase depth. This architectural element was widely used in Zen-style architecture introduced to Japan in the late 12th century.
