Descripción
Short cylindrical Japanese reedpipes with double reed and conical bore, having seven front fingerholes, two rear thumbholes, and a ring of cane guarding the reed. Originating in China and known in Japan since the 8th century, they were formerly made of hardwood, bone, or horn, but now usually of bamboo lacquered on the inside.
