Descripción
Cases designed to hold portrait photographs, usually daguerreotypes or ambrotypes. The case was customarily made of leather or another material, hinged, opening like a book, with velvet or another covering applied to the interior surface facing the image, and the outside surfaces decorated with relief designs. The design was patented in the United States by Samuel Peck in 1854.
