Descripción

Neck amphorae with splaying, conical necks, high bodies, and two flat strap handles extending from the shoulders and joined into the lip. They are known mostly in black-figure. The shape was adapted by the potter Nikosthenes from a native Etruscan shape. It is thought that nikosthenic amphorae were produced especially for the Etruscan market.
