Descripción

Literally "hanging objects", these containers were used in conjunction with "netsuke" to suspend personal items such as tobacco, pipes, brushes and money from the waist sashes, or "obi", of Japanese men. The most common sagemono were boxes made of lacquer, called "inrō".
