Descripción
Mosaics made from hundreds or thousands of tiny tesserae, typically of opaque glass. Often used to create pictures, jewelry, plaques, small boxes, and tabletops. Made from the 16th century to the present in Rome and elsewhere. The term was coined by British collector Sir Arthur Gilbert (1913-2001) in the mid-20th century.
