Epipaleolithic

Refers to the transitional phase between Paleolithic and Neolithic cultures. The concept differs from Mesolithic in that it generally is applied particularly to the culture in eastern Europe, and stresses the continuity with processes begun earlier rather than distinct innovations that developed during this period.
