Anamorphic wide-screen process developed and introduced by film technicians at Twentieth Century-Fox in the early 1950s. CinemaScope uses an aspect ratio varying from 2.66.1 to 1.66:1 and a special anamorphic lens, also referred to as a Cinemascope.
