Sample preparation

In analytical chemistry, sample preparation refers to the phase of scientific investigation that follows sampling and precedes measuring. It encompasses all the processes involved in readying a sample for examination, including extraction from a larger sample, and all the techniques of reduction and processing required to produce a representative test sample.
