Inorganic compound occurring in nature as green blue crystals; it is a green powder in its industrial form. Copper nitrate has a wide variety of applications. It is used to create patinas on metals; as a mordant and oxidizing agent in textile dyeing; as a pigment; as an ingredient in polishing agents for metals and pyrotechnics; as a fungicide.
