Magnesium carbonate

White crystalline salt that occurs in nature as the mineral magnesite and may be prepared artificially by precipitation. It is used as an inert pigment and as an ingredient in printer’s ink. In aqueous solution, magnesium carbonate is used in mass deacidification of paper.
