Transducers

Generally, devices that can transform an input of physical quantity, usually coming from an energy source, into an output quantity typically of a different kind, for instance, converting solar heat into electricity, or pressure into hydraulic energy. Many devices, such as phonograph pickups, microphones, thermometers, loudspeakers, and light meters, can be termed transducers.
