Unique works in which images are formed primarily by the direct application of pigments suspended in oil, water, egg yolk, molten wax, or other liquid, arranged in masses of color, onto a generally two-dimensional surface.
Úsese para obras únicas en que las imágenes son formadas principalmente por la aplicación directa de pigmentos suspendidos en aceite, agua, yema de huevo, cera fundida u otro líquido, dispuesto en masas de color, sobre una superficie generalmente bidimensional.

Modern art
Refers to painting, sculpture, graphic arts, and architecture dating from the late 19th century to the present date and characterized by a rejection of traditional artistic forms and conventions. It typically reflects changing social, economic, and intellectual conditions. Modern art includes numerous movements and theories. It differs from contemporary art, which does not carry the implication of a non-traditional style, but instead refers only to the time period in which the work was created. 'Modern' and 'contemporary' are inherently fluid terms. The term 'modern' sometimes more narrowly refers to art up until the 1960s or 1970s.
Se refiere a la pintura, a la escultura, a las artes gráficas y a la arquitectura de fines del siglo XIX hasta el presente, se caracteriza por un rechazo de formas y de convenciones artísticas tradicionales. El cambio se ve reflejado por condiciones sociales, económicas, e intelectuales. El arte moderno incluye numerosas teorías y movimientos. Se diferencia del arte contemporáneo, que no implica un estilo no tradicional, sino que por el contrario se refiere solamente al período en el cual el trabajo fue creado.
Verwijst naar schilderkunst, beeldhouwwerken, grafische kunst en architectuur vanaf het einde van de 19de eeuw tot aan nu, die wordt gekenmerkt door een afwijzing van traditionele kunstvormen en conventies. De moderne kunst vormt een afspiegeling van veranderende maatschappelijke, economische en intellectuele omstandigheden. De moderne kunst omvat tal van stromingen en theorieën. Het verschil met hedendaagse kunst is dat deze niet de betekenis van een niet-traditionele stijl in zich draagt, maar slechts verwijst naar de periode waarin een werk is vervaardigd. De begrippen 'modern' en 'hedendaags' zijn impliciet aan verandering onderhevig. De term 'modern' verwijst soms in meer specifieke zin naar kunst tot aan de jaren 60 of 70 van de 20ste eeuw.

The art or practice of producing creative works in oil paint, which is pigment suspended in vegetal drying oils. It dates from at least the Middle Ages in Europe, and was widely adopted for easel painting by the fifteenth century.
Arte o práctica de producir obras de creación con óleo, es decir, pigmento suspendido en aceites vegetales que se secan. Proviene al menos de la Edad Media europea y fue ampliamente adoptada para la pintura de caballete en el siglo XV.

Closely woven textile made in various weights, usually of flax, hemp, jute, or cotton, used especially for sails, tarpaulins, awnings, upholstery, and as a support for oil painting. Also used for a loosely woven, latticelike mesh made of similar material, used as a needlepoint foundation.
Úsese para un textil a telar apretado fabricado en diferentes pesos, habitualmente de flax, cáñamo, yute o algodón, utilizado fundamentalmente para confeccionar velas de barco, tela encerada, toldos, tapicería de muebles y como base para la pintura al óleo. Se utiliza también para trama tipo enrejado hecha de material similar, utilizada como base para bordados de aguja.
Dichtgeweven stof in verschillende gewichten; wordt meestal gemaakt van vlas, hennep, jute of katoen en vooral gebruikt voor zeilen, dekkleden en stoffering en als ondergrond voor olieverfschilderijen. Het wordt ook gebruikt voor rasterachtig gaas dat van soortgelijke materialen is gemaakt en wordt gebruikt als ondergrond voor borduurwerk.
