Descripción

Order containing around 202 species in 10 families, including giraffes, camels, deer, cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and kin, characterized by feet with weight borne equally by the third and fourth toes rather than mostly or entirely by the third, and by the shape of the astragalus (a bone in the hock joint) that has a double-pulley structure in artiodactyls, giving the foot greater flexibility.
